Pitlane is built for busy shops, and busy shops employ people who see, hear, and move differently. We want every owner, service writer, tech, and customer to be able to use Pitlane, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboards, voice control, or larger text.
Our target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our website and web application. We are not fully there yet, and we say so plainly rather than pretend otherwise. Accessibility work at Pitlane is ongoing, not a one-time checkbox.
What we have built
- Full keyboard support in the app: visible focus indicators, skip-to-content links, and dialogs that trap and restore focus correctly.
- Screen-reader support: semantic landmarks, labeled controls, and live announcements for alerts and confirmations.
- Customers approving work by text message can sign by drawing or by typing their name, so approval never requires a steady hand or a mouse.
- Animations respect your device's reduced-motion setting everywhere, including product tours.
- Large tap targets on the surfaces customers touch, built for phones first.
Known limitations
- Some charts in reports do not yet have full text alternatives. The underlying numbers are always available in the tables and totals nearby.
- Our iOS app has not yet had a dedicated accessibility audit.
- Some older pages may have color-contrast or labeling issues we have not caught yet.
