What you get back

One repeat customer covers the month.

The average repair order at an independent shop runs $400 to $600. Pitlane is $200 a month. Bring back one customer who would not have come back, and that single visit covers two to three months of the subscription.

You also get to see it: effective labor rate, parts margin, and profit, from your real jobs.

Pricing questions

The stuff shop owners ask.

How does the 30-day free trial work?
Every feature is on from the first minute. Repair orders, two-way SMS, digital inspections, payments, the works. No credit card to start. One trial-only limit: 100 outbound texts, so a test account cannot run up carrier fees. Add a card when you decide to keep going, or don't and the account just pauses. Nothing auto-charges.
Is there really only one plan?
Yes. $200 a month, everything switched on. If you saw an older price list with three plans on it, that is gone. There is no cheaper version that leaves out the part you came for, and nothing to add on later. You see the whole product on day one and you keep it.
Are there setup fees or contracts?
No and no. Month-to-month. No setup fee, no cancellation fee, no talk-to-sales call. Sign up online, connect Stripe, and go. Most shops are live in under 10 minutes.
Do I have to use your payment processor?
You connect your own Stripe account in about four minutes. Customers pay by a texted link and the money goes straight to your bank. You still pay Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30 cents per charge; Pitlane's platform fee on top of that is 0%. There is no in-counter card reader yet, so card payments are the texted Stripe link. Cash and check are recorded by hand.
What counts as a PitCrew AI action?
One action is one thing PitCrew drafts or runs: a suggested repair-order line, a drafted reply to a customer text, a rewritten estimate note, a recovery message. The daily morning briefing is included and never counts. Every shop gets the same fair-use ceiling, 500 a month and 150 a day, which is about 20 a working day and more than a 1-2 bay shop uses. It exists so a runaway script cannot spend your money, not to sell you an upgrade. The in-app concierge chat is included too.
How many people can I put on it?
As many as you want. Owner, front desk, and every tech in the building, at no extra cost per head. Techs get the mechanic view, which shows the job and hides the money.
Can I pay annually and save?
Billing is monthly at $200. Cancel anytime to stop the next renewal; fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires it.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
One-click CSV export from Settings at any time, even before canceling. Cancel with one click, access runs through the end of your billing period, and you can permanently delete your data when you are done. No hostage situation.
I run more than one shop. What then?
Each location runs on its own account at $200. If you're running several, email support@usepitlane.com and we'll set them up by hand.
How does Pitlane compare to Mitchell1, Shopware, or Tekmetric on price?
Those are shop management systems for repair orders, labor, and parts, and their pricing is quote-based; shops tell us it usually lands at $300 to $500+ per month, so confirm your own quote. Pitlane is $200, published, everything included. Repair-order writing, mid-job authorization, payments, and the whole customer side are native. Parts and labor price off your own numbers: enter a part's supplier cost and Pitlane carries the margin on that line, and labor hours price against the shop rate you set. Plenty of shops run Pitlane next to their old system on the trial and move the day over one job at a time.
What does PitCrew AI actually do?
Three things you'll use every week. One, a morning briefing lands in your inbox with today's appointments, what's in the shop, who to follow up with, and the one move that pays back the most. Two, one-click drafting for repair-order lines, review replies, estimate notes, and declined-work recovery messages. You read it, edit it, and send it. Three, an in-app assistant for quick shop questions like pricing or a customer script. One action is a single draft like that, and every shop gets the same 500 a month. PitCrew drafts; it never posts to Google or texts a customer on its own.
How do I get more Google reviews with Pitlane?
Every completed job triggers a review request about two hours after pickup, by email and by text. Every customer gets your Google review link. Anyone who reports a problem also gets a private feedback form that lands in your inbox so you can fix it fast.
Do I need my own Twilio or Stripe account?
Stripe, yes. You connect your own in about four minutes and the money goes straight to your bank. You pay Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30 cents; Pitlane adds 0% on top. Texting, no. We handle the A2P 10DLC carrier registration and give your shop its own dedicated local number. Registration usually takes a few business days, and we email you when it's live.
How fast can I be live?
Under 10 minutes. Sign up, connect your Google review link, import your contacts, and you're in. Pitlane is fully self-serve: no onboarding calls, no setup fees, no "talk to sales" gates. Stuck on something? Support is one email away.
Can I import my existing customer list?
Yes. Export a CSV from Mitchell1, Tekmetric, Shopware, or whatever you use now. Upload it and we map the columns (customers, vehicles, VINs, and each vehicle's last visit date). Most shops are imported inside a day. Walk-up customers can be added inline from the new-RO and new-inspection forms, no bailing out to a separate page.
Is my shop's data private and secure?
Yes. Pitlane runs on SOC 2 Type II-compliant infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit, and every shop's data is row-level isolated. Pitlane's own SOC 2 audit is not yet complete. We don't sell data and don't share it with advertisers. PitCrew AI sends prompts to Anthropic's Claude; per Anthropic's commercial API terms, those prompts aren't used to train its models. You can export everything or permanently delete your account from Settings.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no setup fees. One click in Settings. Access continues through the end of your billing period and you're never charged again.
