The retention layer
What runs in the background while you turn wrenches.
The morning briefing, the customer record, the review flywheel. Three surfaces that quietly keep customers coming back.
Morning briefing
Every weekday, your inbox has a 60-second read: who's coming in, what's overdue, the one job worth chasing today.
Vehicle-aware CRM
Every contact carries every car they own and every RO you've ever written. Overdue customers turn red so the callback list writes itself.
Review automation
Two hours after pickup, a one-tap rating goes out. 4-5 stars route to Google. 1-3 stars go to a private form. No public surprises.
An AI that reads your shop. And writes for you.
Every morning, PitCrew emails you a one-minute briefing built from today's real shop data: who's coming in, what's in the bays, who to follow up with, and the one job worth fronting today. Inside the app, it drafts review replies in your voice, polishes rough technician notes into customer-ready copy, and writes recovery messages when work gets declined.
- Morning briefing. A one-minute agenda, every weekday
- One-click review replies, tone rewrites, and polish
- Recovery kits for declined work. Scripts + pricing + timing
- Shop concierge chat on Pro. Ask it anything about your shop

Roadmap
Where Pitlane is going.
Today Pitlane runs alongside your shop management software. As we ship parts ordering, OEM labor times, and CarFax reporting, you won’t need it anymore. Here’s what’s live, what we’re building, and where we’re headed. No marketing slides, just the actual list.
Run alongside your shop management.
The customer-facing layer your SMS doesn’t do well. Full CRM, automation, and payments, in production for paying shops right now.
- Vehicle-aware CRM with VIN + service history
- Two-way SMS inbox with inline replies + dedicated shop number
- Digital vehicle inspections with photos
- Repair-order writing: per-line tech, time, cost, margin, AI suggest
- Mid-job authorization by text with finger signature
- Take payment on the RO: cash, check, card, text-to-pay
- Automated review requests + win-back sequences
- PitCrew AI: replies, recovery, morning briefing
The integrations that close the gap.
RO writing is live. These integrations make Pitlane a single-vendor decision instead of a stack add-on.
- PartsTech: order from NAPA / WorldPac / AutoZone Pro inside an estimate
- CarFax Service Network: auto-report every completed repair
- MOTOR / Mitchell1: OEM labor times + repair procedures by VIN
- TechMan / Bolt On telematics for fleet shops
- QuickBooks Online sync for accounting
Replace your shop management entirely.
The end state: one tab open, AI-assisted, priced for shops that don’t want to pay $400/mo for software written in 2003.
- AI-assisted quoting with live labor + parts pricing
- Native mobile app for inspections + SMS + on-the-floor lookups
- Smart scheduling that loads bays without overbooking techs
- Multi-shop / franchise rollups with shared customer data
- Voice + phone agent for after-hours customer calls

Answers
Questions shop owners actually ask.
What exactly is Pitlane?
Pitlane is the customer-facing system for independent auto repair shops. CRM built around vehicles and VINs, automated review requests, win-back sequences, digital inspections, native repair-order writing with AI line suggestions, mid-job text authorization, estimate-to-invoice flow, and card payments. Close a job and Pitlane handles the customer side automatically.
Can I write the actual repair order inside Pitlane?
Yes. Pitlane writes the RO end-to-end. Per-line tech assignment, clock-in/out time tracking, parts cost and margin per line, mid-job text authorization with finger signature, and the take-payment drawer all live on the same page. Parts ordering via PartsTech and OEM labor times via MOTOR are the two remaining integrations on the roadmap.
How is this different from my shop management system (Mitchell1, Tekmetric, Shopware)?
Pitlane runs alongside today, and increasingly stands on its own. RO writing shipped natively (per-line tech, time, cost, margin), as did mid-job text authorization and inline Stripe payment on the RO. Parts ordering (PartsTech) and OEM labor times (MOTOR) are the two roadmap items left before Pitlane is a clean single-vendor decision for a typical independent shop. Most shops start alongside and migrate over as those land.
What does PitCrew AI actually do?
Three things you'll use every week. One. A morning briefing lands in your inbox each day with today's appointments, what's in the shop, who to follow up with, and the one move that pays back the most. Two. One-click drafting for review replies, rough estimate notes, and declined-work recovery messages. Three (on Pro). An in-app shop concierge chat that answers questions from your real data. Nothing is trained on your shop's info and every surface can be turned off.
How much does it cost?
$97/month Starter, $197/month Growth, $297/month Pro. Annual billing is 20% off. No setup fees, no contracts, cancel anytime. For comparison, Mitchell1 and Shopware typically run $300-$500+ with setup. One new repeat customer usually pays for six months of Pitlane.
How do I get more Google reviews with Pitlane?
Every closed job triggers a rating request, two hours after pickup, by text or email. 4-5 stars routes straight to your Google review page. 1-3 stars routes to a private feedback form. So complaints land in your inbox, not on Google.
Do I need my own Twilio or Stripe account?
Stripe. Yes, you connect your own (four minutes, the money goes straight to your bank, Pitlane takes 0% on payments). SMS. No, we include it. We own the A2P 10DLC carrier registration and handle compliance; you just send texts.
How fast can I be live?
Under 10 minutes on any plan. Sign up, connect your Google link, import your contacts, done. Pitlane is fully self-serve: no onboarding calls, no setup fees, no "talk to sales" gates. The in-app Help center has ten step-by-step guides for the things shop owners ask about most, with interactive spotlight tours that walk you to the exact button on the actual screen. Stuck on something the guides don't cover? Support is one email away.
Can I import my existing customer list?
Yes. Export a CSV from Mitchell1, Tekmetric, Shopware, or whatever you use now. Upload it and we'll map the columns (vehicles, VINs, service history, last visit date). Most shops are fully migrated inside a day. Walk-up customers can be added inline. The new-RO and new-inspection forms have a + New contact mini-form right there, no bailing out to a separate page.
Can I print a single packet for the whole job?
Yes. Click Print on any RO and the print sheet bundles the RO header, line items, totals, signature line, plus every linked digital inspection (with photos and pass/attention/fail per item) and every linked estimate. Browser-native print handles save-as-PDF. No PDF library, no add-on cost. Drop-off paperwork, customer copies, fleet/insurance billing all use the same combined packet.
Are repair orders, inspections, and estimates connected to each other?
Yes. Bidirectionally. An RO has panels listing every linked inspection and every linked estimate, with pickers to link existing ones from the same vehicle. An inspection shows its parent RO + linked estimates. An estimate links to both. The connection is explicit FKs, not derived from "same customer same day," so it works correctly for fleets and busy shops with multiple jobs per vehicle.
Do I have to add a customer first before starting a repair order?
If they're already in the system, search picks them in two keystrokes. If they're walk-up, the contact picker shows + New contact when the search returns nothing. First name, email or phone, optional notes ("fleet of 3 trucks", "referred by Marcus"). Saves and selects them inline without leaving the new-RO form. Same pattern for vehicles: + Add vehicle takes year/make/model/VIN/plate/mileage and selects on save.
Where do I learn how to do something specific in Pitlane?
/help in the dashboard sidebar. Ten step-by-step guides for things like Connect your Stripe account, Set up SMS for your shop, Write your first AI-suggested RO, Authorize a line by text. Each guide has screenshots from the actual app, plus a Run this guide in the app button that opens an interactive spotlight overlay on the live screen and walks you to the exact button. Replayable any time. Useful when you're training a new service writer.
Is my shop's data private and secure?
Yes. Pitlane runs on SOC 2-compliant infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Every shop's data is row-level isolated. We don't sell data, don't share with advertisers, and PitCrew AI sends prompts to Anthropic's Claude with zero-retention. They don't store them or train on them. You can export everything or permanently delete your account from Settings → Account.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no setup fees. One click in Settings → Billing. Access continues through the end of your billing period and you're never charged again.
You've got work to do. Let Pitlane handle the follow-up.
