Payments
Take a payment by text
Skip the counter shuffle. Text the customer a Stripe-hosted payment link, watch it clear, hand them the keys. Cash, check, and other are always available too.
When the job's done, you can text the balance instead of waiting for the customer to come stand at the desk.
- Open the RO and click Take payment. The button sits at the top of the Line Items section, next to Suggest from concern and Text for auth. A modal opens with the outstanding balance pre-filled.
- Pick a method. Four buttons: Cash, Check, Other, and Card (text link). The first three record a payment you took at the counter. Card (text link) texts a Stripe-hosted checkout link.
- Confirm and send. For a card link, Pitlane fills in the customer's phone from their record. The button becomes Send payment link. Add a note if you want, then send. They pay from their phone with card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link.
- Watch the RO flip to paid in full. The moment Stripe confirms, the RO updates, Take payment greys out, and a receipt fires by email.
Card payments need Stripe
If the Card option is greyed out, connect your Stripe account first. Cash, check, and other work without it.
