Turn on two-factor sign-in
Add a 6-digit code, emailed at sign-in, on top of your password. If someone gets your password, they still can't get into your shop's data without your inbox.
Two-factor sign-in adds a second step to your login: after your password, Pitlane emails you a 6-digit code you have to enter. A stolen password alone won't get anyone in.
- Open Settings then Your account. Find the Two-factor sign-in card.
- Click Turn on two-factor sign-in. Pitlane emails a 6-digit code to your account email.
- Enter the code and confirm. Type the code and click Verify and turn on. The card flips to On.
- That's it. From now on, signing in asks for your password and then a fresh code sent to your inbox.
One thing to know first
There's no self-serve reset. If you lose access to your email inbox, you can't get the code, which means you can't sign in. If that happens, email support@usepitlane.com. We verify it's really you, turn two-factor off, and you sign in and set it up again.
Keeping this on is the single biggest thing you can do to protect the account. Here's the rest of how your data is protected.
