Add a walk-up customer without leaving the job
New customer just pulled in? Add them and their vehicle inline from the new-RO or new-inspection form. No bailing out to a separate page and losing your place.
A walk-in doesn't need a detour. You can create the customer and their vehicle right from the form you're already on.
- Start the RO or inspection. From + New RO or Inspections then New.
- Add the customer inline. In the customer picker, choose to add a new one. Enter name and phone (and email if you have it) without leaving the form.
- Add the vehicle inline. Same deal for the car: year, make, model, VIN. The VIN carries through the rest of the job.
- Keep going. You're back in the RO with the new customer and vehicle attached. Nothing lost.
Why it's built this way
The busiest moment at a shop is a customer standing in front of you. Making you stop, navigate away to a contacts page, save, and navigate back is exactly the wrong time to add friction. So Pitlane doesn't.
