Send an estimate a customer can approve from their phone
Build an estimate, text it, and the customer reviews and approves it on their phone. No app, no login. Approved estimates carry into a repair order.
An estimate the customer can approve from their phone closes faster than phone tag. Texting the estimate needs your shop number set up first (see Set up texting).
- Build the estimate. Add the customer, the vehicle, and the lines. Same line editor as a repair order: description, hours, parts, price.
- Send it. The customer gets one text: your shop name, the vehicle, the estimate number, the total, and a link. The message ends with "Reply STOP to opt out," because every automated customer text does.
- They review and approve. The link opens a single page with the lines, the total, and an approve action. No app, no login.
- Turn it into a job. An approved estimate carries its lines into a repair order, so you're not re-typing anything.
Good to know
If a customer has texted STOP, Pitlane won't send them the estimate by text. Their contact shows as opted out and the send is skipped. You can still print it or read the total to them over the phone.
