Repair orders & estimates
Write a repair order with AI-suggested lines
Type the customer's concern in plain language. Pitlane drafts the RO lines with a type and suggested labor hours. You edit, accept, and send. Available on Growth and up.
Repair-order writing is on Growth and up. Here's the flow.
- Open or create a repair order. From Service Records, click an open RO or hit + New RO. Pick the customer and vehicle if it's new. VIN, year, make, and model carry through.
- Write the customer concern in plain language. "Brakes squealing at low speed and pulling slightly right when braking hard" is enough. Don't translate it into shop-speak first. Pitlane parses the customer's words fine.
- Click Suggest from concern. The button sits at the top of the Line Items table, next to + Add Item. A drawer opens with proposed lines: each has a description, suggested labor hours, a line-type badge, and a plain-language note.
- Accept what fits, skip what doesn't. Click Add on the lines you want. They land in the RO with editable price, hours, and parts. The total updates as you go.
The suggestions come from PitCrew. Nothing goes to the customer until you click Text for auth. They're a draft until you say otherwise.
Then get it approved
When the lines are set, text the customer to approve them or take the payment if the job's already closed.
