Repair orders & estimates

How estimates, ROs, and inspections link up

An approved estimate becomes a repair order without re-typing. An inspection's approved items flow onto the RO. Everything for one car stays connected instead of living in separate piles.

A job for one car usually starts as an estimate, becomes a repair order, and picks up an inspection along the way. Pitlane keeps those connected instead of making you rebuild each one.

The spine

  • Approved estimate to RO. When a customer approves an estimate, its lines carry into a repair order. You're not re-typing anything.
  • Inspection to RO. When a customer approves inspection items, the approved work flows onto the RO.
  • Declined items remembered. Whatever they put off is logged against the vehicle, so it feeds declined-work recovery later instead of vanishing.

Why it's built this way

From any repair order you can see its linked estimate and inspection, so the whole story of the car is in one place. One ticket, start to finish, instead of three documents that don't know about each other.
